Description
Perfect for history buffs & sailors alike… DON’T GIVE UP THE SHIP is the famous last order given from Naval officer James Lawrence as he commanded the Chesapeake against the British in Boston Harbor in 1813. While it didn’t go so well for Jimmy – his second in command, Oliver Perry, had the words stitched onto a flag that he flew over his fleet during the Battle of Lake Erie, where he defeated the British, thereby turning the tide of the war. If ever there was a time to hold onto these words – now seems good… and we think Jimmy would agree.
The rallying cry is shown on the front, with the S&S sailor anchor on the left shoulder and a classic clipper ship on the back. The navy blue sweatshirt is a comfy blend of cotton & poly that can stand up to salt water & tough times. Designed & printed on Cape Cod. This design can also be found on a unisex t-shirt and a unisex long sleeve shirt.
